Initializing a conference call from a local extension

 

8YOUR_NUMBER

Creates a conference room.

If your extension has the conference features enabled, you can create a new conference room by dialing 8 followed by your short extension number.

 

Joining a Conference Call

Users can join a conference created by a local extension by dialing 8 followed by the short extension number.

 

Joining a Scheduled Conference Call

Users can join a conference initiated by an external number by dialing the extension number (from local) or the public number of the conference.

They will be asked to enter the conference ID and a password.

 

Conference Call Functions

A specific sound is played to the user after dialing the key combination assigned to each conference function.

After the conference has started, no matter if you logged in as a simple user or as the administrator, a message telling that you must always press the # key to enter the conference options will be played.

# Pressing this key to enter the conference menu. The conference options are played in background. If you are the conference moderator, then the specific options are played. After all the specific options are played, you will have to press # again to return to the conference.

*1 Pressing this key will mute the conference channel. While muted, a message telling each member that the channel is muted will be played in the background. To unmute the conference channel, press *1 again. Another message will be played, telling each member that the channel is no longer muted.

 

Conference Administrator Functions

During a conference call, the conference administrator has access to the following functions ..

 

Invite - invites another extension to the conference. For this purpose, dial?

*8ext_number# - Where ext_number is the short number of that extension.

Kick / Quit Gracefully - kicks users out of the conference. For this purpose, dial ...

*30# - this gracefully "quits" all the of conference members except for the member entering the command.

*31# - this kicks out the user who joined the conference last.

*32# - this kicks out all the users except for the member entering the command.

 

Lock / Unlock

Prevents new users from joining a conference in progress.

For this purpose, dial ...

*21# - this locks the conference.

*20# - this unlocks the conference.

 

Mute / Unmute

Mutes the other participants.

For this purpose, dial ...

*11# - this mutes all the members except for the one who typed the command.

*10# - this unmutes all the members except for the one who typed the command.
