Change PBX Extension Settings Print

  • 0

The following features can be controlled from the VoIP Server Control Panel, however in many cases, changing settings using your phone can be easier and quicker than accessing the Control Panel.

In order to access any of the following features, your phone extension must not be involved in a phone conversation. This means that you will be required to pick up the phone's handset and dial the numbers below into your keypad. However, if you want to configure multiple settings, the web interface still provides a faster operation method.

In order to access any of the features below, your phone extension must not be involved in a phone conversation. This means that you must pick up the phone and dial the numbers below.

*11 will both activate and deactivate Password Protection

Our system allows you to block/activate an extension using a protection password. This feature offers you the possibility to block the access to the phone terminal for a certain period of time, eg, when you're away from the office.

If the terminal is blocked, it cannot be used for answering/placing calls.

After defining a password, you will be able to block/activate the phone terminal using its key pad by dialling *11 and, afterwards, the password. If the terminal is blocked and the extension's voicemail feature is enabled, then all the incoming calls will automatically be redirected to voicemail.

*70 will deactivate Call Waiting

Our system supports Call Waiting, but in order to use this feature you must have a phone terminal that is Call Waiting compliant. In order to deactivate Call Waiting and let anyone that calls you hear the BUSY signal when you are involved in another phone conversation, dial *70 from your extension phone keypad. Wait for the confirmation message and then hang-up the phone.

*71 will activate Call Waiting

In order to take advantage of the call waiting option, dial *71 from your extension phone keypad. Wait for the confirmation message and hang-up the phone.

*78 will activate Do Not Disturb

When Do Not Disturb is activated, the extension cannot be contacted and the phone will not ring. A custom sound file, chosen by you in the VoIP Server Control Panel, can be also played.

If you want to activate the Do Not Disturb function, dial *78 from your extension phone keypad. Wait for the confirmation message and hang-up the phone.

*79 will deactivate Do Not Disturb

If you want to deactivate the Do Not Disturb function, dial *79 from your extension phone keypad. Wait for the confirmation message and hang-up the phone.
